Zac Efron

Zachary Efron was born on 18th October 1987, in San Luis Obispo, calfornia. He is best known for his work in (obviously!) High School Musical, and also "Summerland", where he played Cameron Bale.

Zac plays Troy Bolton on High School Musical, the basketball star with a hidden love for singing.

Following the unprecedented success of High School Musical, Zac is currently filming the movie Hairspray, which has prevented him from touring with the High School Musical tour. Filming for Hairspray has been completed in Toronto, Canada!

Zac has also starred in the Disney Channel show The Suite Life of Zack of Cody (love it!), with Vanessa Huges and (more notably) Ashley Tisdale. He has also guest starred in Law and Order: SVU as a "troubled teen"!

Vanessa Anne Hudgens

Vanessa Anne Hudgens was born on 14th December 1988, in Salinas, California. Before breaking it into the big time with High School Musical, Vanessa had guest spots on Nickelodeon shows The Brothers Garcia and Drake & Josh.

We mostly know and love Vanessa from HSM, where she plays Gabriella Montez, the "freaky-genius-girl" who changes schools regularly, due to her mother's job. East High provides a place for Gabriella to get a fresh start however, and be whoever she wants to be...hopefully!

Since HSM's rise to fame, Vanessa has also starred in the Disney Channel show The Suite Life of Zack of Cody (love it!), with Zac Efron and Ashley Tisdale. Vanessa plays Corrie on this show, the extremely ditzy class-mate of Maddie's.

Ashley Tisdale was born on 2nd July 1985, in West Deal, New Jersey, in America. Lucas Grabeel was born on 23rd November, 1984, in Springfield, Missouri, America, and is best known for his role of Ryan Evans, brother of Sharpay, on High School Musical

Lucas plays equally dramatic Ryan Evans, running the drama club with his sister Sharpay.

Before the success of High School Musical, Lucas has guest starred on a number of shows, including Boston Legal, Veronica Mars and Smallville.

Corbin Bleu

Corbin was born on 21st February 1989, in Brooklyn New York, USA. His role as Troy's best friend Chad has made him into a star.

Like the rest of the cast, Corbin has guest starred in a number of shows before making it with High School Musical, including ER, Malcolm & Eddie, Hannah Montana (which rocks!) and 20 episodes of Flight 29 Down, as Nathan, in 2006.

Monique Coleman was born on 13 November 1980, in Orangeburg, South carolina, and plays Gabriella's friend Taylor McKessie.

Taylor and Chad are both equally concerned about Troy and Gabriella's new found love for singing and do their best to discourage this new hobby...with diastrous results. However, the day is always saved :)
